What's New
If you want to be notified when additions are made to e-Vampires.net, www.MidnightBlood.com, and Suite101.com, don't forget to sign up for the e-Vampires.net Newsgroup. What's New at e-Vampires.net August 15, 2005 Sometimes time sure flies when you aren't having fun. I had planned while my Grandson, who lives with us, was on vacation to devote all of my time to working on the long postponed sequels to my Darkhour Vampire novel Captivity. Unfortunately, July 3rd my recurring back problem, which I had been struggling with all spring, struck again. This time it was August 3rd before it settled down and I began to emerge from the haze of constant pain and drug induced stupor. A whole month gone and all I had to show for it was a lot of sitting and reading. I did reread the whole Harry Potter series before going on to number six. I certainly hope it isn't so long until number seven. I am looking forward to her finishing the series, at least I hope she is ending it with book seven, although I have truly enjoyed it. I also finished all of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. If you haven't discovered that series, I truly recommend it. It is sort of Harry Potter all grown up. That one I hope keeps just going on and on, cause it just keeps getting better and better. Anyway at last count I have about 25 new reviews to be adding to MidnightBlood.com as soon as I find the time. New at Suite101.com, Vampire Books and Authors, T. D. McKinney and a review of her book Dancing in the Dark. http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/vampire_ebook_authors/117440 e-Vampires.net continues to add books and authors, mostly to the Erotic Booklist, but I have been working on trying to catch up on the regular publishers. About half are current. Not being able to sit at a computer for more that 15 or 20 minutes slowed down the process. My friend Karen Koehler is just starting a email serial of her latest vampire story, Legion. It's free so be sure to join. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Slayer_The_Covenhouse/ That's about all for this update. If my back continues to behave, I am going to focus on my own writing for awhile. See if I can finished the next four books in the Darkhour Vampire series. That won't be quite so hard as it sounds. When I finally got back to looking at what I already had completed, Number two is basically done, waiting for the final copy edit and the eagle eye of my English major husband. Number three is looking pretty good too, just polishing the rough edges. Number four is about half done with some rather big chunks missing although the story is plotted and I know what I have to write, just needed to do it. Number five, that is actually the first book of the series that I wrote and I really like it, but as the series has evolved there have been lots of changes to the characters and storylines, which means I am going to have to make lots of changes to get it whipped into shape, but it is actually the most interesting part of the project. I really have a hard time motivating myself to do the copyediting. It is the what makes a book really good, but it takes so long to go over and over looking at each word, comma, punctuation mark, reading it until you almost know it in your sleep. I tend to procrastinate and find other things to do instead, like working on updating e-Vampires.net and writing book reviews. But I really need to buckle down and finish it. My daughter is afraid I'm going to die before I get it done and she will have to finish it and she just doesn't want to. Besides as she says, her writing style is just too different from mine. Anyway, she keeps bugging me to work on it, so that is what I am going to do next. So the next update of e-Vampires.net will be at least a month away. I don't want to let it go too long or I will have a really hard time catching up again. But I want to spend more time with my vampires than with other people's. So that is what's going on for now.
What's New at e-Vampires.net June 15, 2005 Not much. I am running a few days late. I've been keeping up-to-date with new releases, but still need to work more on the backlog. Oh, well. What's New at MidnightBlood June 15, 2005

What's New at e-Vampires.net May 30, 2005 What happened to the May 15 Update? I have been trying to update e-Vampires.net and MidnightBlood on the 15th and 30th of the month, but this month I threw my back out and was laid up on the 15th, so I decided to wait until the 30th. Actually, I threw it out twice this month, so I didn't get as much work done as I would have liked on either Midnight Blood or e-Vampires.net. Although you will find enough new listings and new reviews. As always the new books are marked in yellow. I continue to work through the backlog of books and publishers and each month move closer to having the list completely up-to-date. The publishers whose lists are complete and current are marked with a *. Contest

What's new at Midnight Blood May 30, 2005 New Reviews Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote her first book at 13. I know there
are a lot of vampire authors who wish they could write as well. These are
classified as young adult novels, the only thing young adult about them really
is their length. All of these books are excellent. Jim Butcher Patricia Rasey Chelsea Quinn Yarbro Reader's Guides Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's Saint-Germain series. A bibliography of all the books in the long running series based on time period rather than order written. Out of the Closet updated. What's New at e-Vampires.net April 30, 2005 I was laid up with an arthritis flare up for about 10 days, which means lots of pain pills and lots of just sitting afraid to move because it hurts. Pain pills mess with my ability to think. Pain limits my time at the computer. So very little work. On the plus side, I read a bunch of books. So new reviews for Midnight Blood. I have finally caught up the backlog for all the erotic romance publishers, all their listings are current and complete. A rough count about 300 books from all the publishers. It is obvious that vampire and werewolf erotic romance is popular not only among the readers but the writers as well. New at Midnight Blood I have created a new category, Out of the Closet. Into this category go books like the Anita Blake series, paranormal mysteries where the vampires and other creatures of myth are real and living in the United States. I also adapted a Vampire Books and Authors article, If Vampires were real..., as a guide to various series, including so far Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake and Meredith Gentry series, Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse, and Kim Harrison Rachel Morgan of Dead Witch Walking. www.midnightblood.com/CoOseries.htm New movie review - Vampire Effects New Vampire Book Reviews Kim Harrison - Dead Witch Walking. This is a great book. New favorite. Barb & J C Hendee - Dhampir - A vampire fantasy. A start to a new series. Dean James - Posted to Death - The hero is a vampire, but a really whimpy vampire and not because he's gay. It is a good English Cozy, but a terrible vampire novel. Karen Harbaugh - Night Fires - A historical Vampire romance set in France during the French Revolution. Just Plain Mystery Reviews Janet Evanovich - Metro Girl
What's New at e-Vampires.net April 15, 2005
My husband and I took a mini-vacation to the Oregon coast and stayed in my favorite hotel The O'dysius in Lincoln City. So I can't brag that I added a hundred new books this time, only about 50, but I have been keeping up on the new releases and working on the Ellora's Cave backlog. I've done it! Ellora's Cave - Vampire & Werewolf books are now listed - at last count 126. Vampires and werewolves certainly seem popular among readers and writers. There also have been some new books from some of the most prolific and well known authors including Kate Hill, Marilyn Lee, Jaci Burton, Elizabeth Lapthorne Free Stories Lani Aames Chelsea Quinn Yarbro
Elizabeth Miller bloofer@telus.net
let me know that Chelsea Quinn Yarbro will be the Guest of Honor at our

What's New at e-Vampires.net March 31, 2005 VOTE FOR E-VAMPIRES.NET e-Vampires.net has joined Vampire Top 100. Please vote for the site. WORKING HARD I have been working hard at getting e-Vampires.net's backlog caught up to date. There are almost 100 new authors and books from a variety of publishers. You can check on the publishers lists at the top of the Booklist and the Erotic Romance List pages to find out which publishers are up to date. I am keeping current on new releases and working my way through backlists. Among others, I've been working on Ellora's Cave. So you will find a lot of new listings from them, but I still have a bunch of their vampire and werewolf books to go. NEW FREE FICTION Anya Bast currently has an erotic serial called Fury as part of
her newsletter. You can read the first part on her site. An Amber Quill Anthology Elaine Corvidae has a free story set in the same world as Wolfkin, but takes place sixteen years before the start of the novel. "A Treasure in and of Itself" - When three thieves break into a warehouse, they don't know what's inside the box they've come to steal. But it knows what's inside them.... .http://www.onecrow.net/treasure.htm Jacqueline Elliot has a free short story based on her vampire romance novel, Full Moon Inheritance. http://www.jacquelineelliott.com/ NO LONGER MIA Knight, E. E. / The Way of the Wolf, Vampire Earth Book 1, is available from ROC Publishing in paperback, along with Book 2: Choice of the Cat and Book 3: Tale of the Thunderbolt. Jewel Dartt's Enemy Mine and Moonlight Legacy from Amber Quill. RECENTLY MIA Novel Books is no longer publishing. Authors added to the MIA list NEW PUBLISHER All Romance Books www.allromancebooks.com All Romance Books is a new romance publisher listed on the Erotic Romance Booklist, but they will be putting the emphasis on traditional romances, rather than erotic romances. One of their first books is a vampire romance. Treble Heart http://www.trebleheartbooks.com/ Chippewa Publishing www.chippewapublishing.com WHAT'S NEW AT MIDNIGHT BLOOD I have been working to post a backlog of reviews that I did for a now defunct review site, most of those were ordinary mysteries. Authors and Reviews added:
New Article: AT SUITE 101 This month I did a three part series on Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, including an interview, a review of her latest Saint-Germain novel, Dark of the Sun, and a complete bibliography of the series in chronological order.
March 15, 2005 SITE CHANGES There are now so many publishers that I have created a publisher index at the top Booklist and the Erotic Romance Booklist. I am also marking which publishers I have had a chance to check and make sure I have all their books listed. As you can tell by the number of new yellow listings, 95 in all, I have been work hard on getting caught up to date, but I definitely have a ways to go yet. I am trying very hard to keep up with the new books as they come out and work on the backlog as I can. NO LONGER MIA Kate Hill has found a new home at Ellora's Cave. The second in her Trilogy THE IMMACULATE has just been republished. The sequel THE GOD OF GRIM is also due out soon. Kate has also been a very busy author, with 16 books available from Ellora's Cave and Changeling Press. MaryJanice Davidson's UNWED AND UNDEAD first published as an eBook is now a Berkley Sensations. The series continues with UNDEAD AND UNEMPLOYED and UNDEAD AND UNAPPRECIATED also from Berkley. The last is available in hardback. Laurey, Rosemary Moonlight Series has found a new publisher and a new name. Walk in Moonlight about a young American who comes to a small British village to claim her inheritance only to tangle with both vampires and witches. The sequel, Rapture in Moonlgiht , which finds a vampire, Justine Corvus, falling in love with a feisty single mom with an eight-year-old son and the troubles are just beginning, are combined into one novel, Kiss Me Forever / Love Me Forever, published by: Zebra Books; 2 Bks in 1 edition (August 1, 2004) # ISBN: 0821776614 Gouveia, Keith / The Eternal Battle [E/P]
which was originally published by 1st Books Library is now available from
LuLu which is a self publishing portal and storefront. RECENTLY MIA We have learned that Stealth Press is no longer publishing. They were reprinting the first three books in Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's Saint-Germain series. According to Yarbro's representative none of the out of print books in the long running series have been reprinted by alternative publishers nor are there any current plans to do so, but hopefully in the future. Until then you are stuck hunting to used book stores to find many of these books. The newer ones are still available and the series continues. The latest is Dark of the Sun. NEW PUBLISHERS Ben Bolla Books a print publisher who has begun reprinting some of the classic vampire series, including P. N. Elrod's Jonathan Barrett Gentleman Vampire, Jacqueline Lichtenberg series Dreamers Universe, Jean Lorrah's Blood Will Tell, and Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's In The Face of Death. They have also produced some interesting books for Buffy and Angel fans, biography of Joss Whedon, and a couple of anthologies of essays by science fiction writers about the Buffy and Angel series. Liquid Silver added to Erotic Romance Booklist. 12 new books and authors. Liquid Silver Books is an imprint of Atlantic Bridge Publishing, a royalty paying, full-service ePublisher. Atlantic Bridge has been in business since June 1999. Loose ID added to Erotic Romance Booklist. 10 new books and authors. Triskelion Publishing added to Erotic Romance Booklist. 12 new books and authors. SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN PUBLISHERS In trying to track down a MIA, I came across something new in the online publishing field. Lulu is a digital printer offering on demand printing and download capabilities, not just for books, but music, images, comic books, calendars, scrapbooks. It also offers a storefront to selling of your material. Searching for keyword vampires brought up 31 listings, which I didn't have time to go through. It still smacks of self-publishing, but it might be useful for other projects such as quickly printing up an ARC or doing a book for a family reunion. www.lulu.com NEW FREE FICTION I discovered Kelley Armstrong. She is a well known traditionally published author, her series on werewolves starts with BITTEN. Anyway at her website, www.kelleywarmstrong.com each year she posts a free novella, this year it is a series of short stories. You can read this year and previous years offerings. GOOD NEWS Having been a fan of Margaret L. Carter since she first
published the eBook DARK CHANGELING, I was very pleased to see her hit the big
time. Her latest novel in the ongoing vampire series has been published by
Silhouette. Available March 05 Silhouette Intimate Moments book #1355 EMBRACING DARKNESS by MARGARET CARTER . Here is the blurb: POLICY I started e-Vampires.net to focus on vampire and shapeshifter writing available on the web. It began with eBooks, then gradually I added a few print publishers, usually only those who were publishing both print and eBooks. Occasionally a print publisher who sold mainly through the Internet or provided POD of out of print books such as Stealth Press. I never planned to or wanted to be a comprehensive list of vampire novels. Those lists you can find elsewhere. So recently when Margaret L. Carter's book was published by Silhouette and I discovered MaryJanice Davidson,'s Unwed and Undead is being published by Berkley, I debated about whether to start another booklist, this time for traditional publishers. I decided against it. I did decide to make a notation of the book on the author page. This will only be for authors that have a body of work published by Internet publishers and whose work was first published as a eBook and who then make the transition. February 28, 2005 EROTIC ROMANCE BOOKLIST Considering how many erotic vampire romance novels there are now out there, I have decided to give them their own page, so have moved Changeling Press, Ellora's Cave, and Extasy Books to Erotic Romance Booklist. I still haven't caught up with all the paranormal books now being published by these three erotic publishers, but I am working on it. FOUND Corvidae, Elaine / Wolfkin [E/P] IS NOW AVAILABLE FROM
MUNDANIA PRESS NEW Venus Press, a new erotica publisher which started publishing in January 2005, was added to the erotica booklist, with 9 erotic romances classified as vampire. Shapeshifter romances promised to come. Author Jeya Jenson has moved her books from Extasy Books to Venus Pres. What's New September 4, 2004 Margaret L. Carter has a very interesting article about the current state of Vampire literature, which is well worth reading. http://www.simegen.com/reviews/vampires/vamps200.htm New Author Interview and Book review at Suite101 Vampire Books
and Authors J. C. Brinson-Untiet Blood Red, a Vampire Love Story Also at Suite101.com Vampire Books and Authors, a review and interview with another first time author, Don Eckers, Past Sins. Found Kate Hill is now with Ellora's Cave, her book The Darkness Therein has been revised and is now available. The other two in the series, Immaculate and God of Grim are due for release next year. Not only that she now has five more works in this Vampire Universe, which she calls Ancient Blood. These are all from Ellora's Cave and range from short stories to full length novels. The Darkness Within in currently #6 in the series. I have been working on adding Ellora's Cave's new books to the list. Due to computer problems I haven't gotten it done. But I thought I should post what I have gotten done. Next time more. June 26, 2004 Found Bailee, Dehanna / True Nature [E/P] is now being published by Blue Leaf
Publications. Anna, Viva New publishers PublishAmerica - Had the request of the author J. C. Brinson-Untiet to list her book. So I did. Haven't had time to list any other of their books. They are a print publisher. Blue Leaf Publications - True Nature is their first publication. Good luck. May 2004 E-vampire.net has risen from the dead, out of the crypt and into the night, looking for fresh blood. It would be nice if this site was run by an eternal, unchanging vampire, but it is run by a mere human, plagued by human fragilities and illness. But in many ways I feel my return to a semblance of life and health, as limited as it is, is like rising out of a crypt of darkness into the beautiful moonlight. Since the site was last updated in August 2002 much has changed. Some publishers have gone out of business, authors have changed publishers, sites have gone missing, and of course there have been hundreds of new books. I have started by winnowing out the truly dead. As of May 2004, all the links are live. I will be adding new books, zines, and sites as I once again start the hunt for the creatures of the night that inhabit the darkness of the web. Check What's New or join my newsletter to find out what is currently happening. Please sign up for my newsletter! If you were a member before, you will still need to re-enroll, since my provider thought I was truly dead and deleted the list, but you know you can't keep a true vampire lover buried for long.
